Discord Status Checker — Live Online Status & Activity Tracker — Discord.dog

Discord Status Checker

Check any Discord user's live online status, Spotify playback, game activity, streaming status, and custom status — updated in real time via WebSocket.

Discord shows online status only to friends and server members inside the Discord app. discord.dog makes this information accessible on the web — if a user shares a server with the discord.dog bot, you can see whether they're online, idle, on DND, or offline, plus what device they're using.

What makes this unique is the real-time aspect. discord.dog connects to Discord's Gateway via WebSocket and receives presence updates as they happen. When someone starts playing a game, switches to Spotify, or changes their custom status, you see it within seconds — no page refresh needed.

Activity data includes Spotify (song, artist, album art, progress bar), game activity (game name, details, elapsed time), streaming (Twitch/YouTube link), and custom status (text + emoji). This is the most complete Discord presence view available outside of Discord itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see if someone is online on Discord without adding them?

Yes. If the user shares a server with the discord.dog bot (or is in the Lanyard Discord server), discord.dog shows their live online status — online, idle, do not disturb, or offline — plus what device they're using (desktop, mobile, or web).

How real-time is the status tracking?

Very. discord.dog receives presence updates via Discord's Gateway WebSocket, the same technology Discord itself uses. Status changes, Spotify tracks, and game activity reflect within seconds, without page refresh.

Can I see what someone is listening to on Spotify?

Yes. If the user has Spotify connected to Discord and is currently listening, discord.dog shows the song name, artist, album, album art, and a live progress bar — all updating in real time.

Does status checking work for all Discord users?

Presence data requires a mutual server with the discord.dog bot. Users in the discord.dog community server or any server with the bot installed will have their status tracked. For users without a mutual server, Lanyard is used as a fallback if available.
